Tibet campaigners received news today of the release of high-profile political prisoner Shokjang (Druklo). In February 2016, Shokjang was wrongfully sentenced to three years in prison on charges of “inciting separatism” and “disturbing social stability” following his arrest on 19 March 2015, making him due for release today, 19 March 2018.

Les militants tibétains ont reçu des nouvelles aujourd'hui de la libération du prisonnier politique Shokjang (Druklo). En février 2016, Shokjang a été injustement condamné à trois ans de prison pour «incitation au séparatisme» et «trouble de la stabilité sociale» suite à son arrestation le 19 mars 2015, ce qui le rendait aujourd'hui libérable, le 19 mars 2018.

Les militants tibétains sont concernés par son sort et continuent de militer pour une pleine et entière liberté, sans harcèlement ni intimidation.

La vie des prisonniers politiques libérés est extrêmement difficile et nous en appelons à tous les gouvernements qui sont intervenus pour Shokjang de demander à la Chine d'immédiatement cesser la répression dont il est d'ores et déjà victime ... comme tous ses sœurs et frères libérés. 

“Shokjang was wrongfully convicted and denied his freedom for three years for simply exerting his right to express views about the treatment of the Tibetan people.We are glad to hear that he is out of prison, but with two years’ deprivation of his political rights he will still not be a free man. Life in Tibet for former political prisoners is extremely difficult , and we call on all governments who have raised Shokjang’s case to press China to immediately lift his deprivation of political rights and refrain from any surveillance, harassment or intimidation.”
